The proposed increase will allow UTC to supplement state funding for the FY25 salary pool and cover additional commitments for academic program growth and other unavoidable costs described below.
The majority of this new revenue will be used for costs of new programs including faculty and operations, student programming, scholarships, graduate assistantships, debt service, and institutional support.
Tuition and fee increases have been modest in recent years, including no increases in FY21 and FY23. Over the previous four fiscal years and upcoming fiscal year 2024-25, the average tuition and fee increase is 1.6%. Approximately 80% of UTC in state undergraduate students receive some form of scholarship, grant, discount, or waiver to offset part or all the costs of attendance.
